Hello! Hampton Velo Club is searching for some assistance with a cycling event in Central Park, Sunday March 11th, 2018.

We require many course marshalls throughout the park, an easy, and fun way to help out and enjoy some scenery in the morning! With a storied history of cycling events in Central Park, we need your help in ensuring we can continue to use the park for this purpose.

Marshalls are responsible for ensuring pedestrians are aware that a bicycle race is in progress, and directing pedestrian traffic across park paths and intersections when it is safe to do so. A marshall need to be of age of majority, or accompanied by an adult, physically able to stand in their position for the duration of the event, alert with good vision, and able to perform their function autonomously. A love of cycling is a plus, and if they own a bicycle are encouraged to ride it there!

Start time is 615 am, with a quick breakfast (provided), location assignment confirmed by your captains, then deployment. Races typically end by 815 am, with a firm exit time from the park by 830am.

As we need a specific number of marshalls at specific locations, all marshalls must contact us prior to the event, and receive instructions and orientation via email. Sign in will occur prior to the start, as well as sign out after the event has concluded. Upon completion of this task, we will happily provide a receipt for hours spent helping us with this event.
