There are two main activities that our volunteers provide: 1) loving care by holding, cuddling, socializing and playing with the cats and kittens and 2 ) ensuring that their environment is clean and safe. Volunteer Orientation & Training is provided in 2-3 training sessions and perhaps partnering with a more seasoned volunteer.
Cleaning duites can include, scooping kitty litter pans, cleaning cages, providing clean water and ensuring the bedding is clean and comfortable.
Socializing the cats and kittens is essential to ensure they have every opportunity to lead a happy and well adjusted life. So, play time is a common occurence. However, there may be cats/kittens that need special care due to a recent surgery or other medical condition as well as those that have a prior history of neglect and abuse.
