[We are looking for volunteers who, as a group, will collaborate to fill the role described below. If you are willing to help one day every other week, two days each week etc, we're interested to talk to you. We want to put together a team of volunteers who, together, will support the families we provide services to.]

Job Description

During the evening the families we support are housed over-night an congregation facilities along the Peninsula. During the families congregate at our Day Center, when not at work or school. The Day Center provides storage, bathroom and shower facilities, laundry services, computer access, case management support, etc. Families lacking transportation are moved back-and-forth between the Day Center and host congregations, in the morning, and at night, using a passenger transport van.

The Program Assistant will assist with the following:

Van Driver

• Drive a 14 person van to congregations along the peninsula
• Provide information and support for Guests staying with us

Program Inventory

• Monitor inventory & ensure supplies for rotations are on hand and in good order
• Monitor and replenish supplies in kitchen and bathrooms as needed
• Help Maintain Day Center cleanliness

Assist with Case Management

• Build personal rapport with Guests
• Communicate Guest status updates to other team members involved with case management

Get Involved In Other Areas, Which May Include

• Social media outreach
• Updating web site content
• Writing newsletters to help with communication to our partner congregations
• Researching non-profit foundations to approach through grant writing

Qualifications, Hours, & Pay:

• Must have a good driving record
• Must be available to work Saturday & Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:30pm
• We are also interested to find someone interested to work either 6am to 10:30am several weekdays, or 2pm to 6:30pm several weekdays (we are flexible as to the day)
• The position is part-time, and will pay $15/hour (negotiable)
