1. Assignment Title

Program Assistant Volunteer for EMG Lab at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Downtown Division
(Electromyography which is the study of muscles with electricity to include nerve conduction studies (study of nerves and muscles) diagnostic for muscle and nerve diseases. (Carpal Tunnel, Neuropathies, Radiculopathies, Mononeuropathies, ALS)

2. Purpose of Assignment: Assist EMG Technician with clerical duties

3. Tasks

· Answer Phones

· Take Messages

· Typing documents

· Directing Veterans and family members to waiting room

· Any other additional duties assigned by EMG Technologist

4. Time Commitment Monday-Friday (8.am. - Noon) or (Noon-3 p.m.)

5. Requirements

· Pass a background check provided at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center

6. Training and Skill Development

· Initial and annual volunteer training

· Assignment specific training

7. Supervision

Volunteer reports to: Linda Dinkins, RNCS, BS

8. Supporting policies

* Medical Center Policy MEMORANDUM NO. 119-14-01

10. Benefits
