Mission Statement
We are a friendly, volunteer-run museum displaying permanent and temporary exhibitions of the industrial and social history of London's canals, as well as the fascinating 19th Century ice depot in which it is housed. Education plays an important role in our activities, along with family activities, and a range of monthly talks and workshops. Our volunteers are vital to our museum and create a vibrant community in themselves, who are committed to presenting London's canal heritage to our many visitors.
Description
We are a registered charity, run by a volunteer board of Trustees. The Council of Management make executive decisions in the daily running of the Museum. Two part-time members of staff are employed - a Volunteer and Training Manager, and and Education Officer. All front of house, visitor assistants, education leaders are volunteers.
