Please see below, areas in which Advocacy to Alleviate Homelessness, Inc. (AAH, Inc.) need Volunteers:
Community Service Liaison- On behalf of AAH, Inc. the Community Service Liaison attends informative community meetings, gatherings, and training's offered. Shares information gathered with Executive Chair, Officers and Board Members. The CSL networks with local community partners, hand out flyers, brochures, and business cards.
The Executive Chair or Board Member will notify the CSL of upcoming meetings. The Community Liaison informs the Executive Chair of upcoming events deemed beneficial to the organization of which the Executive Chair, Board, or Officers may not be aware. The Executive Chair or other Board Officers may sometimes accompany the CSL to Community Meetings/Events.
Social Media Volunteer- Assists in getting the word out about the organizations 501(c) (3) Nonprofit via social media ie; Face Book, Instagram, including posting upcoming Fundraiser events, prior events not yet posted and any tips, ideas and suggestions. Open discussion regarding marketing/implementation with Executive Chair, Officers and/or Board Members based on marketing research, and all information/research deemed beneficial.
Administrative Helper Volunteer- File, collate, copy, organize and assist with getting important documents filed and in order.
Management Level Volunteer- This Volunteer is responsible for Special Projects as assigned by the Executive Chair or Board Chair dealing with specific tasks as assigned. If Executive Chair or Board Chair is unable to attend important meetings; the Management Level Volunteer intercedes. The Management Level Volunteer verbalizes important ideas and suggestions, adding growth and opportunity to our organizational platform.
Social Worker Volunteer- This Volunteer's role is (Field Supervisor) and would be responsible to Supervise Student Intern (s) that wish to intern with our nonprofit organization and are within their first year of college. Their "Tasks" involve work/studies in areas of case management, advocacy, community outreach, psycho-educational groups, family support services, discharge planning. (no "hands on" clinical) Will require 1 hour per week Supervision of student work to ensure student stays on track with AAH, Inc's set course curriculum, 2 student evaluations and 3 student training's during the six (6) month internship. Advocacy to Alleviate Homelessness Inc. (AAH, Inc.) goal and mission is to alleviate homelessness by assisting, providing and developing fair affordable housing for working individuals and families with focus on home assistance thereby improving the quality of life one person at a time
AAH, Inc.’s main goal is to secure permanent, safe, and affordable housing for working individuals, families and veterans who qualify for our program. The growing need for affordable housing in Wake County and throughout surrounding areas has become a major concern for our community. Investor buy-outs and gentrification has taken over many areas; leaving a large gap in the real estate housing market for those individuals living on a low to moderate income. By increasing financial self-sufficiency through credit counseling and fiscal consciousness, equipping clients with knowledge on maintaining and improving real property, AAH, Inc. hopes to decrease the number of employed individuals living in homeless shelters and residing in transitional housing by using simple concepts described as follows. And while we understand that homeownership is more than helping someone buy a home, it’s through growth, development and our goal to EDUCATE clients who via the planned states which will in turn provide a sense of stability, family and community to our clients.
Educate- our client on the importance of maintaining a good credit history while also providing the necessary steps to obtain, review and remove fraudulent items from the credit report.
Familiarize- our client with all three credit bureaus: Experian, TransUnion and Equifax.
Provide-the resources needed for our client to obtain access to their credit report ie; computers for online access, email addresses, required forms to appeal invalid or fraudulent items.
Teach- our client how to review and analyze their credit history for inconsistencies and fraudulent information to resolve any disputes found.
Educating the client on the benefits of a good credit history is a primary benefactor in not only obtaining financial independence, but also successfully acquiring a mortgage loan!
For those who utilize our credit counseling program and progress to acquiring a mortgage loan, AAH, Inc. is prepared to assist with limited minimal financial assistance in closing cost (pending funding availability), amount variable. In doing this, we hope to be the final piece which help to "propel" the client into home ownership!
