We invite young ladies (ages 20-older) from any area of New Jersey to pledge Nu Sigma Theta - an international community service organization and help us with social awareness and random acts of kindness. Our members live in more than 10 states and 4 countries - so everyone is welcomed no matter where they live.

Being part of Nu Sigma Theta does not require very much from you. Monthly, we email a "Community Service Planner" which lists all of the activities and projects that we have - many of which can be done online. If you live in Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey or New York, you may see some activities that can be done in person. Do the projects that you are most interested in, or that you have time to do. Ladies with event planning experience are extremely welcomed because, as the home chapter, New Jersey members will be responsible for planning quite a few events.

We also have social activities and professional networking/development opportunities designed to help our sisters grow in their careers (or develop new ones). Support is key! You can participate in these if you'd like.

We have three really important activities coming up: (a) we have been asked by a high school principal to write letters of encouragement to his students who have been struggling with coming to school due to fear and several other obstacles. The letters will be given to his students (250 in total) and he believes that it will help them stay focused and encouraged; (b) we are collecting birthday cards for a four-year old boy who has Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome (a very rare and fatal disease). His mother says that he loves greeting cards even more than toys and his birthday is coming up; (c) we are also collecting birthday cards for a six-year old boy who was bullied mercilessly - to the point of almost taking his life. He told his mother that he doesn't deserve to have a birthday and we want to show him otherwise.

You can stay in the organization for as long as you’d like and membership is free for those who join under this opportunity. We need your help in making Nu Sigma Theta a safe space for anyone who might need it - as well as a force for kindness throughout the world.
