Girls on the Run 5K Race

At the heart of Girls on the Run are amazing volunteers whose commitment & passion impact the lives of thousands of girls each year. We are in need of people just like you to make our Spring 2018 5k race a success.

Girls on the Run is currently looking for PHENONMENAL volunteers to help make our May 6th celebratory 5k race better than ever!

There are several volunteer role opportunities available for individuals or groups/organizations. Below is a list of some of the volunteer opportunities available on race day.

Cheer Gear Station: You will be helping our participants feel celebrated, encouraged, & excited about their race! You will be supplied with cheer materials (cow bells, maracas, blank posters, & etc.) to hand out to participants to keep the excitement going.

Finish Line: Your role will be to help finishing race participant remove timing chips from their shoes, distributing water, & most importantly, congratulating all who have crossed the finish line.

Parking Monitors: Your role is ensuring that everyone is kept safe. You will help direct traffic, guide guests to designated parking areas, & keep pedestrians safe.

Selfie Station: This area is full of fun & high energy. Girls on the Run race participants and their supporting family and friends will be encouraged to post a selfie of themselves at our race on our social media pages. Your role will include handing out selfie props, assisting with taking pictures, & keeping selfie props within the Selfie station.

Course Monitors: Course monitors are registered 5k race runners who run along the race course making sure Girls on the Run program participants are running along side their running buddy. Should there be an unattended Girls on the Run program participant, Course Monitors will stay with her until her running buddy is found or until they cross the finish line together.

Hair Stop: You will be helping our race participants celebrate in the pre-race excitement by getting them glammed up with lots of glitter, colored hair spray, light face painting, & temporary tattoos.

Environmental Stewards: Monitor recycling and trash containers, monitor bathrooms, & ensuring the park is kept clean and free of litter.
