Role Description:
Spend a day with butterflies at the Butterfly House! This is a great opportunity for volunteers who are interested in volunteering in a role that supports a wonderful guest experience but have not yet completed interpretive volunteer training.
While PRE-APPROVED visitor services volunteers can sign up for their own shifts, new volunteers in this area should contact us at butterflyhouse@mobot.org.
Volunteers assist guests entering and exiting the Tropical Conservatory. You may also be stationed in the exhibit hall at an interpretive "learning cart" or table. You will also be trained to assist guests with redeeming their "butterfly release" near the Conservatory Exit once they are purchased at the admissions desk.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Long periods of standing, bending, and able to lift 25 pounds.
The volunteer should be able to assist with a minimum of two shifts per month.
Scheduling:
Shifts will be Tuesdays-Sundays
Morning and afternoon shifts of 10:00am-1:15pm and 1:00-4:15pm
