City Harvest is in high need of volunteers at our Prince Hall Mobile Market on 10/10/2019. Mobile Markets are farmer's market style distribution of free produce at our Healthy Neighborhoods locations. Volunteers will be stationed at 3-4 market tables, each supplied with thousands of pounds of fresh produce that they will help distribute to eligible market-goers. As the market-goers stop by each table, volunteers greet them-and then weigh and bag the produce.

First time volunteers will not need to attend an orientation for this special, high need project! Volunteers must be 18 years or older and must register on City Harvest's Volunteer Portal.

Email volunteerservices@cityharvest.org to register.

About City Harvest, Inc.

Location:

150 52nd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201, US

Mission Statement

City Harvest exists to end hunger in communities throughout NYC. We do this through food rescue and distribution, education and other practical, innovative solutions.

Description

City Harvest is New York City’s largest food rescue organization, helping to feed the nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. We will rescue more than 77 million pounds of food this year and deliver it, free of charge, to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community partners across the five boroughs. Our programs empower individuals through nutrition education, increase our partners’ capacity, and strengthen the local food system, helping New Yorkers who are experiencing food insecurity to access, afford, and consume nutritious food.
