NYCHAPS is looking to build an education committee to help develop its education program for both youth and adults. This committee will help define and execute the NYCHAPS educational mission. We are looking for people who are passionate about education and want to bring ideas for discussion. We also need people who are willing to be involved and help make this educational program a success. This may also include time volunteering or teaching.
This committee will meet monthly.

The Northern York County Historical and Preservation Society (NYCHAPS) strives to inspire by connecting the lessons of the past to the challenges of today. Through hands-on experience, the past culture of the area is brought to life in a deeper and richer educational experience. Through preservation, research, and our collections, NYCHAPS seeks to inspire a different way of learning history.
Description
A living, hands-on museum that strives to give the experience of history while also passing on a history lesson! The work of the Dills and Eichileburger family is preserved at the Tavern and Maple Shade Barn. Classes and events are around colonial crafts (wood working, blacksmiths, gun making) cooking (open hearth, butter churning, etc) farming and distilling. Just as it was in the late 1700 and early 1800s.
