ORGANIZATION: Rescue Widows, Elderly, Youth and Orphans with AIDS (RWEYOWA)
Please visit the new page to apply.
RWEYOWA (Rescue Widows Elderly, Youth and Orphans with HIV/AIDS) is an NGO located in Namasuba in the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. It exists to prevent the further spread of HIV/AIDS and to improve the lives of those affected by the disease.
Among the clients RWEYOWA supports, there are several children that suffer the consequences of cerebral malaria, including abnormal posturing and the inability to use muscles adequately. These children desperately need physiotherapy to prevent further muscular and skeletal abnormalities and to allow them to move on their own again. Physiotherapy, however, is often too expensive for the families of these children and, consequently, do not do enough and adequate exercise.
RWEYOWA is looking for physiotherapists who are willing to work with these children to improve their lives on a voluntary basis. Similarly, exercising equipment is highly needed.
We're grateful for your interest to volunteer with us!
