Maintenance of Amazonian crops in Biohuerto

Inkaterra Asociación invites you to take part in the Volunteer Program at Inkaterra Guides Field Station, to live the experience of conservation work and sustainable development in the field, within different areas offered by the Amazonian biodiversity of Madre de Dios and to promote the investigation.

As a volunteer, you will be integrated in the following projects:

  • Conservation of Amazonian palms
  • Maintenance of Amazonian crops in Biohuerto and organic farms
  • Establishment and management of forest nurseries
  • Wildlife monitoring with trap cameras
  • Monitoring of avifauna by sighting and ringing
  • Breeding and monitoring of Churos (Amazonian snails)
  • Gathering new information on rainforest fungi
  • Registration and processing of monitoring data
  • Environmental education
  • Projects with communities

Volunteering program details:

  • From 2 to 12 weeks
  • From 18 years old
  • Airport pick up and drop off
  • Housing included
  • Meals included (3 per day)

Why pay to volunteer?

This volunteering program costs $50 per day. Inka Terra Asociación is a Peruvian non-profit NGO. The price covers the cost of accommodation, meals, transportation, staff salaries and equipment needed for the various projects. No benefit is collected by the association on the contribution of volunteers.

Guesthouse

The lodge hosts both guests and volunteers and scientists, volunteers and scientists stay in shared rooms. Each shared room has a porch with working tables, four twin beds with 100 % cotton sheets, fleece blankets, two hypoallergenic pillows and a mosquito net; shared bathroom with hot water, shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap dispensers, a clean set of clean towels every day per guest; one ceiling ventilator, personal closets with plenty hangers, personal working table with a security drawer, reading lamp, rechargeable flashlight, an umbrella, and a universal plug. Free internet during electricity hours and housekeeping daily cleaning every morning.

Other Services

Transfer in/out from airport to our lodge is included.
Every participant in the program can enjoy Inkaterra excursions offered at IGFS such as Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, River Island, Lake Sandoval, Caracamayo Trail, River by Night, Gamitama Farm, Wetlands, Trail System, and Rainforest by Night.
