Community Development Leader position

This position serves on the Planning Committee that assists the Red Cross development team with the annual Heroes Recognition Event. Local heroes are recognized at one of the most prestigious events in the community.

  • Meet with other community leaders to plan the Heroes event in your community.
  • Work with the Board of Directors, fellow committee members and community-at-large to find Hero nominees.
  • Support the fundraising staff in getting event sponsorships and in-kind donations.
  • Be an ambassador for 1-2 Heroes from the time of selection to the end of the event.
  • Help with event logistics.
  • Must be available to attend Heroes Event Planning Committee meetings, one hour, once per month from June to May.
  • More time intensive from January through March, leading up to event.
