About Wags to Whiskers

Location:

P.O. Box 1314, Blanchard, OK 73010, US

Mission Statement

We are an Oklahoma based network of volunteers dedicated to saving cats, farm animals, and dogs of all breeds with an emphasis on Pit Bulls. We specialize with doing business as Pit Bull Rescue of Oklahoma. We provide a service to Oklahoma Animal Shelters and Animal Control by rescuing abused, abandoned, surrendered and homeless animals whether registered as full blood breed or not. Acting as a liaison between shelters, animal control and people interested in adopting. Assist in providing appropriate medical care to the animals in our care.

We will provide a service to the community by educating potential adopters about the care of a new pet; pool our resources and network with other rescue groups; transport animals; provide resources, education and information regarding spay/neuter, behavior problems, indoor/outdoor issues; and educating the public about responsible pet ownership.

Description

Most of our rescues are from situations in Oklahoma, however, occasionally we have rescued from out of state when necessary.

All vet work is up to date before they are adopted out.

We will do private adoptions when people notify us of a potential pet from the website and the application/home visit has been completed. We also do meet and greets at Petsmart and A1 Emporium stores throughout the year.
