Job Title: Driver Volunteer
Purpose: Operating CVCFC vehicles, the Driver will pick-up donations from local
box stores.
Length of Commitment: Minimum of one year
Time Commitment: 12 hours per week 6:30am - 10:30 am (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Reports To: Managing Director, Associate Director, and Warehouse Manager
Location: CVCFC and stores located within Douglas County and Carson City.
Key Responsibilities:
? Drive vehicle to pick-up and transport food following all food safety regulations to and from the
store and CVCFC
? Load, unload CVCFC vehicles as required
? Count and separate food donations or purchased products by product type while unloading the
company vehicle
? Complete required donation paperwork
? Inspect product donations to assure that safety and sanitation standards are met
? Communicate knowledgeably with volunteers, staff, donors and clients about CVCFC
? Monitor vehicle maintenance and maintain clean vehicles
? Assist with special events and distributions (such as the Channel 2 News Food Drive and Stamp
Out Hunger)
? Performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
? High School Diploma or GED
? Current driver’s license
? Satisfactory safe driving record
? 1-2 years of professional truck driving experience preferred
? Able to meet the physical requirements listed below
? Is self-motivated and be willing to work with minimal day-to-day supervision
Work Environment: On-the-road with frequent stops at agencies, suppliers, and donors. Working in all
weather conditions on truck lift gates, parking lots, docks, and in donor/supplier warehouses and store
back-ends.
Physical Requirements:
? Ability to operate a motor vehicle, forklift, or pallet jack with a valid license
? Frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Regularly required to use
hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
? Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to
70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds

Description
The Carson Valley Community Food Closet is a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization providing food to qualifying residents in Douglas County. Basic commodities are provided on a monthly basis to participants to supplement their food supply. We strive to provide participants with a variety of healthy food from each food group.
The Food Closet is supported by donations from local individuals, churches, community service groups and businesses. Many food items are donated directly to the Food Closet while others are purchased at a very low rate through our partnership with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.CAUSE AREAS
