Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Mercer County Juvenile Advisory Council Inc.

A youth service volunteer works with at-risk youth that are referred to us by local agencies that have some gaps to fill in service. The volunteer works through the agency that requests some help, with a youth that has been identified as needing a specific role in their life. A lot of times these at-risk youth do not have a committed positive relationship in their lives and are in need of a mentor, motivator, and advocate, tutor, etc. The volunteer meets the needs by filling the gap or limitation in service--helping to keep the youth from falling through the cracks.

The time commitment will vary, depending on each case and the youth's individual needs.

You do not need to be a social worker or lawyer to volunteer-- you just need to have a passion for helping others!
