We are looking for volunteers who are eager to jump in and help for the 27 th annual Walk for Hospice. Volunteers can help in many capacities such as moving boxes, greeting walkers, working at a water station, organizing and handing out t-shirts, and various other activities. We need volunteers on both Friday, March 23, from 9 PM- 12 AM and Saturday, March 24, from 6 AM- 10AM. Volunteers can work Friday, Saturday, or both depending on their availability. For volunteers who need community service hours for school or a club/group, this is a perfect opportunity! We are able to sign off on 3 hours of service for Friday night, 4 hours of service for Saturday morning, or 7 hours of service for working both Friday and Saturday.

Can’t attend the walk but want to volunteer prior to the event?! Great! We need your help too. Volunteers can email Kate Rota at krota@southshorehealth.org to become a Town Ambassador. In this volunteer role, Town Ambassadors are required to pick up Walk for Hospice flyers from the SSHS Foundation office in Rockland and distribute to businesses in the assigned town or community. Town Ambassadors are required to email Kate after their flyer drop-off’s with a list of businesses that accepted flyers. A total of 2 community service hours will be given to Town Ambassadors.

Additionally, we need help in early March getting the Walk for Hospice materials ready. We need volunteers who could come to the office between 8:30AM and 5PM Monday- Friday. Volunteer for 1 hour or 5! However long you can give is appreciated as there is a lot of work to be done!

Eager to get involved? You can also participate in the Walk for Hospice by registering today as an individual or team. By registering you will have access to a fundraising page that you can personalize and share with your friends and family to get them involved as well! Be a "Hospice Hero" and fundraise leading up to the event AND volunteer the day of. Any participant that raises $500 will be eligible for 2 hours of community service.
