Have fun teaching elementary students about how school is important to help them prepare for a successful future. Teach them about needs versus wants, types business in the their communities, basic money skills, and possible career choices. Junior Achievement provides you a complete turn-key kit that contains everything you need to know and present, fun games to do with kids that reinforces the knowledge, and you add your personal experiences. JA will match you with a teacher and the tow of you will set up a volunteer schedule to go to their classroom that works for the both of you. There are five lessons and each lesson lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Preparation time is approximately 30 for each lesson.

Throughout JA's sequential and integrated kindergarten through high school programs, students think critically and solve complex problems. Through our business, financial, and entrepreneurial educational programs, we prepare students to:

  • Proactively manage their finances;
  • Become entrepreneurs; and
  • Develop skills that will be recognized and valued in a global workforce.

During the 2017-2018 school year, JA of Chicago successfully reached 600,222 students of all ages, races, ethnic backgrounds and physical capabilities, including at-risk youth in twelve Chicago-area and northwestern Indiana counties.
