Have you been frequently complimented on your thoughtful birthday or holiday cards?
Do you have lovely handwriting and an enthusiasm for sharing sentiments of comfort and kindness?
Do you have some free time between 8am and 5pm on a weekday and want to use that time to brighten the lives of hospice patients and their families?
If so - this position may be the perfect fit for you!
Hospice can be a difficult period of time for patients and their families, where each member is coping with their own feelings surrounding loss and end-of-life. We can make sure our patients and their caregivers feel supported during this time by sending a thoughtful message - for a holiday, a birthday, or just to say hello!
We hope a volunteer in this role will have attractive and legible handwriting, and a knack for coming up with thoughtful and compassionate messages to share with our patients.
Volunteers would need to have 2-8 hours per month to devote to the role, and have availability on at least one weekday (M-F) between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Full disclosure: Volunteering with Hospice (or in any medical field) requires a lot of paperwork! Volunteers will need to be willing to complete a background check and a health screen in order to volunteer.
If this role sounds like a good fit - please get in touch today!
