ShareCare of Leelanau, Inc. provides Senior Citizens in Leelanau County, MI rides to medical appointments and other services for their health and well-being. Our driver of the day program means you will be assigned to one ride, to pick up a senior at home in Leelanau County and transport them to the appointment, wait for them to complete the appointment and bring them home. Typically the amount of time required is 4 hours. Rides are scheduled through our office manager. Drivers-of-the-Day choose the day they volunteer. For the safety of those receive rides we require drivers to have:
- A valid drivers license
- Follow COVID-19 protocols
-ShareCare will request a driving record to check for tickets, accidents etc.
-Be less than 80 years of age
Most rides are within Leelanau County or between the County and Traverse City, where the hospital is located. If you are interested give us a call!

Description
Since 1994, long before the "aging in place" trend, ShareCare began helping Leelanau County adults lead active and independent lives in the comfort of their own home. We provide transportation, meals, respite, friendly visits, medical equipment and much more, to help seniors age in place. All of our services are delivered by volunteers, with the oversight of a care coordinator, RN and volunteer coordinator. In addition to helping our neighbors in times of need, we offer many social activities for seniors to remain healthy and well.
