The Executive Assistant is a part time volunteer position responsible to carry out our mission statement to empower, connect, and advocate for women and girls seeking paid careers in comedy. The E.A. is responsible for:

  1. Filtering and managing all incoming email communications to the main email (info@womenincomedy) and responding with grammatically correct correspondence
  2. Communications via email and phone handled promptly (within 24 hrs)
  3. Setting up scheduled meetings for Founder
  4. Pre-screening (phone interviews) and directing volunteers to proper opportunities
  5. Additional administrative duties as assigned by Founder


The Executive Assistant agrees to donate 10 hrs of estimated volunteer work per week to complete tasks provided by the headquarters of the organization (Chicago). This 10 hour time commitment estimate is based on quality completion of tasks; workload can be lessened by recruiting a committed and reliable team. Volunteer hours are expected to increase leading up to the events (typically 2 weeks prior to the event you can expect to be volunteering closer to 20 hours per week).

One day per week of work (hours will vary) must be completed in person with supervision/Women In Comedy. On days you are scheduled to volunteer, please clear your schedule, and please do not have any other commitments that will interrupt. Please be sure to be on time (at least 5 minutes early to scheduled start time).

Additional hours may be completed remotely.

This role is a 3 month minimum commitment although we would love for you to volunteer with us as long as you like!
