Current: The youth is a 14-year-old from Nigeria. She is living in a foster home where she is doing very well. She is excelling in school (English is her first language) and participated in basketball this season. She is athletic, friendly and social. Her case manager stated, "...she would like a mentor in order to engage more in the community, and have another supportive adult in her life. She is easy going, and gets along well with most people."

Background: This youth arrived to our program in October 2017. She was previously in a shelter in Chicago.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • One year, 4 hours minimum every month.
  • Application, in-person interview, 2-hour group training
