Spring Jam began because many of the families and youth that NCC serves live at or below the poverty level and cannot afford a Spring Break Vacation. Additionally, Spring Jam was created to address the lack of cultural diversity, exposure to art, and education in some schools, especially those with limited resources. NCC’s "Spring Jam" Spring Break experience is an annual three-day educational event that provides a unique, artistic, and cultural experience to lower-income families and youth from across our city. In the past, NCC has taken children to countries such as Greece, China, India, Japan, France, Mexico and more, but this year NCC is going to Switzerland!

For Spring Jam 2019, NCC’s North Center, which is a 25,000 square foot building will be artistically transformed into Argentina. NCC will create an authentic two-hour travel experience that includes mock passports, vaccination info station, TSA screenings, a simulated flight experience, a traditional restaurant, and information on currency exchange. NCC’s Spring Jam event will honor Switzerland by highlighting: historic geographic landmarks, artwork, architecture, customs and traditions, cuisine, language, dance, forms of government, and economic systems. Volunteers are needed to assist with building sets, assisting in the restaurant, serving as Tour Guides, and much more.
