The YMCA Father's Day Run is a family tradition that started in Plymouth, Michigan 39 years ago. We offer races for all levels of competitors, with a fun run for Kids to competitive events for serious runners. We are the only non-profit race in Plymouth, and all proceeds benefit the YMCA, which offers program and financial support to our local community. When you volunteer for the Y, you are volunteering for our cause of strengthening community.
The Father's Day Run will be held on Father's Day, Sunday, June 17th, 2018. We need help with various jobs such as registration, directing people on the course, handing out finisher prizes, handing out water at water stations, set up and clean up, providing first aid at aid stations, and helping to pass out post-race refreshments. We have a job for everyone of all ages and abilities!
Volunteers are not required to work the full length of the day. Volunteer jobs are typically about 3 hours and there are various opportunities throughout the length of the day. So if you can't be here at 6 am or if you can't stay until 1:00, we still welcome and appreciate any time you are able to give.
Thank you for considering volunteering for our event. Volunteers are critical to us for a successful event, so we really appreciate anyone who gives their time to support the Y. Thank you.

Description
Our Cause
Welcome to the Y. We’re an inclusive organization of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Our Strength is in Community
The Y is a nonprofit like no other. That’s because in 10,000 neighborhoods across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver, positive change.
- The Y is community centered. For nearly 160 years, we’ve been listening and responding to our communities.
- The Y brings people together. We connect people of all ages and backgrounds to bridge the gaps in community needs.
- The Y nurtures potential. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
- The Y has local presence and global reach. We mobilize local communities to effect lasting, meaningful change.
Our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.
