Monday, November 26th - Salt Marsh Monday
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm At the Wetlands and Marine Science Education Center (WAMSEC)
5119 E Colorado St, Long Beach, CA, 90814
Join us in helping to restore our wetlands and neighboring habitats at The Colorado Lagoon. The work days are fun and fulfilling and require no prior experience, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. If you are interested in helping the environment in a unique urban setting while learning some Long Beach history, please, join us at the Lagoon!
This Salt Marsh Monday will include:
- Removing trash and invasive plant species
- Watering native species
- Learning a few native plant species
- Learning the history of the Lagoon and its importance to the natural world
- Helping the environment!
Closed-toe shoesare required
Water and sun protection highly recommended.
Please, do not bring any pets.
BE GREEN and carpool to the event if possible.
All work equipment will be provided
Volunteers are eligible to win prize giveaways!
Your contributions of time and effort are vital to the success of the Lagoon's restoration and is truly appreciated!

We promote cooperative solutions to ensure a healthy balance between recreation, flood management, water quality, wildlife habitat and native plants in Colorado Lagoon. Our primary goal is to protect public health and environmental resources.
