We need volunteers to hand out medals and check runners bags, among other job duties. You can choose your assignment at http://cherryblossom.org/generalinfo/volunteer.php

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom is known as "The Runner's Rite of Spring" in the Nation's Capital. The staging area for the event is on the Washington Monument Grounds and the course passes in sight of all of the major Washington, DC Memorials. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a consortium of 170 premier children's hospitals across North America. About one-third of the funds raised support Washington, DC's own Children's National ("Children's Hospital"). The event also funds two $5,000 Road Runners Club of America "Roads Scholar" grants designed to support up-and-coming U.S. distance running talent.

The race would not be possible without the help of thousands of volunteers. Thank you for your support of our race and Children's Miracle Network

Description

Credit Union Cherry Blossom

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom is a 501(c)(3) organization. We conduct the 'Runners Rite of Spring', the Nation's Premier 10 mile race held every year along the tidal basin and along a course that tours Washington DC.

The proceeds from our events support Children’s Hospitals that belong to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit international organization that helps to treat millions of children across the U.S. and Canada. Since a consortium of credit unions became the title sponsor of the race in 2002, the race has donated nearly $9 million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
