New Year-Round Respite Weekend Programs
Welcome to Camping Unlimited! For the past 60 years, we have offered recreational programs for children and adults of all disabilities. Participants with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other physical/emotional challenges enjoy a wide range of weekend programs and summer camp sessions with the assistance of our wonderful group of Volunteer Counselors and staff.
We have something almost every weekend of the year! We offer Day Trips (Saturdays, 9a-5p), 2-Day Overnight Trips (starting on Saturday morning and ending Sunday evening), 3-Day Short Overnight Trips (starting Friday evening and ending Sunday evening), and 3-Day Overnight Trips (starting Friday mid-day and ending Sunday evening). All of our trips are exciting and enriching opportunities for campers and staff alike to experience the great outdoors as well as the beautiful parks & attractions of California and beyond!
Volunteers may assist on a variety of weekend options per their own availability. This is great experience for those interested in Medicine, Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Physical-Occupational Therapy and Psychology.
There are many events for all to enjoy! We hike, explore state parks, cheer at sporting events, enjoy theatrical productions, picnics in the park, visit museums, community fairs, festivals and more. On certain weekends we head to the Santa Cruz Mountains and stay at Camp Krem, our nearly 100 acre resident camp in Boulder Creek. Together we dance, create with arts crafts, enjoy performing arts with karaoke, talent shows, skits. We also garden, play sports, games and have magical campfires celebrate with special events for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our Campers also trek to the snow country and out of town camping locations to enjoy other exciting types of adventure such as our favorite tradition, going to Apple Hill near Lake Tahoe in the fall.
