Interns work directly with staff members with similar backgrounds to enhance their skill in their area of study. Interns are required to commit to a minimum of 20-30 hours per month for at least a 4-month period. Interns are provided opportunities for development through staff and may take on special independent projects on a case by case basis. Interns unable to commit to a consecutive 4-month tenure can choose a number of options to complete the total allotment of time needed to complete Internship within one year.

As a MAP Intern, you will be assigned tasks such as designing, conceptualizing and promoting multimedia materials to communicate key aspects of the organization’s work for the public. The MAP Team maintains audience engagement and carries out a strategic marketing plan. In addition to working directly with a PR Specialist and/or Digital Marketing Director, the MAP team contributes work alongside the Board of Directors Communication Committee in shaping, honing and creating the messaging necessary to increase brand recognition and maximize potential impact.

Be advised, this is not your traditional internship at all! The work you do will directly impact the organization and you will be in a unique position to gain hands-on non-profit media knowledge in the process. Successful applicants are comfortable working independently and with a team in a virtual office setting, our team operates from remote locations in the world.

Opportunities for travel may apply. We are a volunteer run e-organization but will do our best to supply adequate assistance for some organization travel, however, it is not guaranteed. Interns are not paid, but can become eligible to participate in the staff perks and recognition system. Interns are also eligible to receive school credit for their work, provided they have the permission of the school.
