The Scottsdale League for the Arts invites you to volunteer for the Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s 40th anniversary on April 14 & 15, 2018. Our signature event, the Scottsdale Culinary Festival weekend, provides memorable opportunities for volunteering and being a part of Arizona’s tastiest fundraiser.

Our charitable success depends on 300 dedicated community volunteers to staff more than 40 positions on the Festival grounds. Proceeds benefit deserving organizations that make a positive impact in the community through the arts.

Volunteering for the Festival is a great way to contribute to the arts as you host a great party. Join us in making the 40th anniversary the most fun yet! All volunteers must attend our Volunteer Rally to register, get oriented and pick up volunteer materials.

If you are interested in volunteering, please read the volunteer descriptions below and complete our short volunteer application.

Mission Statement

The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' artistic mission is to present quality, traditional and contemporary arts, cultural and arts education events; to create opportunities for audiences to have thought-provoking experiences and interactions with artists and speakers; to create events of interest to world-wide audiences; and, to foster creative expression, diversity in thought, and awareness of cultural heritage. The mission of the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' Education Program is to provide youth in the metro Phoenix area with hands-on arts experiences that nurture personal artistic expression, promote arts accessibility for all people, foster tolerance and communications through cultural exchange, and empower the arts to address issues that create a positive, healthy and productive community.

Description

Since 1975, the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts (SCPA) has been nationally recognized for its quality presentations and model educational programs. On an annual basis, the SCPA presents more than 400 performing arts events in theater, dance, classical music, world music, jazz, family presentations and festivals.

The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' education and outreach programs touch the lives of children of all ages, from every part of the metro Phoenix area. Each year, more than 200 arts education activities involving 38,000 young people from 100 schools and community organizations are presented by the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Education and outreach programs focus on interactive exchanges between children and artists designed to inspire creativity, foster communication and tolerance, promote cultural exchange, create a positive image of self and community, and enrich the overall education experience.

In addition to providing quality arts, cultural and educational experiences for the community, the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is dedicated to making the arts accessible to everyone. The SCPA believes that the arts are especially important to the personal, emotional and educational development of children, and is proud to provide special programming for children with disabilities.

The SCPA is managed by the Scottsdale Cultural Council, a private non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that provides arts and cultural services for Scottsdale and surrounding communities.
