Do you want to make an impact in 2018? Do you support education equity? Give back to Seattle and make a meaningful difference in the life of a young person as a one-on-one tutor! Now more than ever, the Youth Tutoring Program needs caring and dedicated volunteers like you to be mentors and tutors for students living in three low-income housing communities in South Seattle.
YTP serves a diverse group of students, 99% of whom are children of color and many who come from East African immigrant and refugee families. We match tutors and students 1:1 to foster the best mentoring and tutoring relationships. We focus on skill building so our students to catch-up and get ahead in school.
No experience is necessary- not only do we train our volunteers to be effective tutors, we provide our volunteers with the tools they need (such as individualized tutor plans and skill-building activities) to make a difference!
