The Vancouver Public Works Department works with SMART volunteers to set up the Citys Speed Monitor Awareness Radar Trailer at various locations throughout Vancouver. By joining the SMART volunteer team, you can help slow traffic speeds in residential neighborhoods.

Requirements: 18 years of age or older, valid drivers license, drivers abstract with no major traffic infractions or a history of ongoing infractions, clean background check, two hour training (April 9, 2018) and ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, twist, and kneel.

SMART Volunteer Role: Self select your monthly deployment schedule and log service hours, work on a two-member team, available Monday or Friday for trailer deployment.
