Humane Society of the North Bay
The Humane Society of the North Bay is a private, nonprofit (501c3) corporation that was established in 1986 to offer shelter and adoption services for homeless animals. We were formerly known as the Benicia-Vallejo Humane Society.

Gods and Goddesses Wanted for Barkitecture 2018!

Humane Society of the North Bay seeks competent, committed volunteers to help us make our annual fundraiser one for the ages! This year's theme is "Animal House--Party Like an Animal" and will feature a Greek-inspired theme with lots of room for creative interpretation.

Funds from the event go directly toward helping homeless animals at Humane Society of the North Bay.

We are looking to fill the following positions: Event Organizer, Volunteer Outreach Manager, Habitat Lead, and Sponsor Outreach & Recognition Lead.

If you love animals and possess a skill that can build an empire of good for our shelter, contact us here or email to bark@hsnb.org with your name, phone number and area of interest.

Mission Statement

Our Mission

To offer refuge, medical care, nourishment and an opportunity for a second chance for life to unwanted animals;

  • Strive to protect animals from cruelty, neglect, carelessness and ignorance;
  • Help foster a public sentiment of humanity and gentleness toward all animals through education and encouragement;
  • Promote the lifelong commitment of responsible pet ownership.

Description

The Humane Society of the North Bay provides shelter for animals who are lost, abandoned or are given up by families no longer able to care for them. We offer a second chance to adoptable animals and place them in loving, permanent homes. We also offer dog licenses and microchipping.

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on our community for help in caring for these animals by donating, volunteering and fostering. M ost of our funding comes from individuals and businesses in the form of generous donations of money, supplies and services, as well as from sales at our Happy Tails Thrift Store (located at 1825 Springs Road in Vallejo).

Visit us Tuesday - Sunday from 11 am to 5 p.m. We are closed to the public on Monday and on most major holidays.
