Assist parents attending a Parent Education class translate verbal and written communication from English to Spanish.
Duties include:
Translate verbal communications in real time between the Family Educator and the Consumer.
Assess the consumer's comprehension of the material and ask for assistance on the consumer's behalf if needed.
Communicate the information to the consumer in an accurate manner without leaving out or changing the core message of the information.
Relay the style of tone of the original language.
Translate written communications as needed so that the consumer can accurately understand and complete written forms or documents.

Children and Families First offers a wide variety of services to the community. These services include adoption, foster care, counseling, numerous teen services, and parent education services. We provide these services at 12 locations throughout Delaware, in homes, in schools and other community locations. Children and Families First is a member of the United Way of Delaware, the Child Welfare League of America and the Alliance for Children and Families. We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children.
