The conservatory and gardens at MossRehab are cared for and maintained by a robust volunteer team, working under the direction of the horticultural therapist. There are a variety of opportunities available for volunteers from plant care and conservatory maintenance to assisting with the therapy program.
Some of the tasks a volunteer might be involved with include:
¨ Care for and maintain plants in conservatory, outdoor garden and lobby, under direction of registered horticultural therapist (HTR).
¨ Maintain conservatory and garden area including cleaning floors, furniture, tools, equipment.
¨ Prep materials and samples for HT sessions and cleanup after group.
¨ Assist HTR during sessions (retrieving materials, circulating materials to patients, clearing materials).
¨ Assist family members or visitors accompanying patient to session.
