Event Description:
Join Parks Staff as we plant at Worthdale Park Community Center.

Volunteer Duties: Volunteers will use shovels and other hand tools to dig holes and plant shrubs and other plants. There will also be a mulching component to the project where volunteers could use pitchforks, hard rakes, and wheelbarrows to add mulch around the plants. This helps hold in moisture and create an aesthetically pleasing look in our parks.

Special Information: We will supply tools, gloves, snacks, water, sunscreen, bug spray, and a first aid kit. Volunteers will need to wear loose comfortable clothing that can get dirty, and sturdy closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or work/hiking boots.

Work Environment: We will be working outside and on a hill. Uneven ground is guaranteed at this project. These projects are rain or shine, but in the case of extreme weather you will be contacted by our staff if project is cancelled.

Volunteer Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer. All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer release form that will be mailed to them prior to the event.

Group Registration Information: Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. All volunteers must register as individuals, but if you are a part of a group, please list the group name in Step 2 of registration in the "Registration Notes" when signing up.

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
