The San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition (SAFCC) operates the only 24/7 Helpline in the city dedicated to aiding the community with concerns about outside cats. A pre-recorded message asks the caller to leave their name, number and reason for calling. Volunteers return calls within 24 hours. They educate, give advice, and refer callers to appropriate resources when necessary. We are always looking for new Helpline volunteers who share our passion for helping outside cats and can spare half a day, once per week to return phone calls. Training is provided by the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition.
This rewarding volunteer position is ideal for retirees and individuals with limited physical capabilities. If you can help, please contact us today. The community cats of San Antonio thank you in advance!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to end the overpopulation of cats in the San Antonio area through public education, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and empowering the community to care for outside cats.

Description

SAFCC is an all-volunteer organization. We teach free classes to the public on how to trap outside cats. We have a trap loan program that loans traps to those we have trained. We have a 24/7 Helpline that returns calls about cat issues. We have a foster/adoption program that re-homes strays and finds homes for kittens. Our subsidy program subsidizes 5 clinics to keep the spay/neuter cost low for trappers. We raise money for these programs with grants and fundraisers.
