The YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is excited to have been chosen as on of the receiving charities by Optim Orthopedic for the annual Optim Orthopedic Skidaway Island Marathon on March 24th. We currently have openings for 30 volunteers to assist at the race in the following areas:
5K Run Water Station
- Part Safety Officer/ Part Cheerleader: Our first priority is to provide a safe course for our runners. Pass out water, cheer runners on, Get up, get excited, and keep them moving. Be creative, decorate your hydration station in a theme, bring a radio to play music, wear funny hats - you’ll be part of the inspiration that keeps the runners moving.
Start/Finish Line Set Up and Assistance
- Race Day Set Up: Volunteers will assist the Race Day Set Up and Start/Finish Line. Volunteers will be responsible for corralling runners to the start line pre-race and cheering them on as they cross the finish.
Water Station Shifts- 6 am - 10am and/or 10 am - 12 pm
Start/Finish Line Shifts- 5:30 am -9:30am and/or 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
