Exploring advisors are volunteers, aged 21 and older, who excel in their career fields. They are great advisors who are dedicated to Exploring. They have volunteered their time and skills to be advisors and choose to work with the Exploring Program. They enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience in their career field with youth as well as enjoy getting to know each of you along the way. All adult leaders are trained in Youth Protection Training and Explorer Adult Leader Training.


Fire and Emergency Services Exploring

Fire and Emergency Services Exploring is a hands-on program that exposes participants to many career experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within fire and emergency services and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and country.

The most popular Skilled Trades Exploring careers include:

  • Fire Fighters
  • Paramedics
  • Emergency Technicians
  • Ambulance Corps
  • Search and Rescue Services
  • Forest Fire Fighters

Participants get to experience firsthand what it’s like to be a volunteer or full-time Fire fighter & Emergency Service provider through firefighting training & ride alongs during actual fire calls.

Participants will develop:

  • Leadership Skills
  • an understanding of emergency service response procedures
  • an understanding of the importance of teamwork in a professional setting
