Volunteers are the heart of Kindred Hospice - providing friendly, non-medical patient visits.
- Hospice Volunteers provide a wide range of services that help support our interdisciplinary team and help to maintain or enhance the special "Quality-of-Life" of Patients facing a Terminal Disease, as well as their surrounding Loved Ones!
Volunteers are needed to provide weekly visits to patients and/or their caregivers and provide services such as: - Companionship and socialization
- Deliver comfort gifts to patient homes
- Serve as an advocate for the Kindred Volunteer Program and share ways in which we can further enrich the life of the patient.
- Provide respite and support for family and other caregivers
- Read to patients, listen, and be there for patients who need companionship
Duties include: Visit patients on a regular basis; distribute donated items to patients and family members, maintain confidentiality, abide by and support the philosophy, policies and guidelines of Kindred Hospice. Participate in training as needed and required, keep careful record of hours served and items distributed.
Must be willing to submit a volunteer application and screening as well as attend New Volunteer Orientation and training
We also have opportunities for those who wish to help in the office, supporting our clinical team behind the scenes. We welcome you to join our team and help make a difference for those in Hospice care.
