Partnering with the Executive Director or Regional Executive, the Community Development Leader(CDL) works to build capacity in the Blood Services program. The CDL helps recruit volunteer blood drive sponsors that are both inclusive and represents the demographics of the community and fills the specific need identified by the region.
This is accomplished through:
Serving as an advocate, representing the Red Cross blood donation needs within a specific community.
Sharing blood donation needs within social networks / circles of influence.
Meeting with identified community groups and schools to share information about blood donations and blood drive sponsorships.
Working with current blood drive sponsors to meet the identified drive objectives.
Participating in local community events as an extension of Executive Director or Regional Executive.
Assisting Regional Executive/Executive Director in thanking and providing stewardship to community blood drive sponsors.
Assisting with cultivating, managing and stewarding external partner relationships including elected officials.
Helping build / regain/ enhance presence in the local community.
Serve as a member of the Biomed Committee of the Board of Directors.
