CAC is looking for a few good "Grannies" and "Grandpas" for the Classroom Grandparent Program.
This program provides an opportunity for low-income men and women over the age of 55 to engage in meaningful volunteer experience. The volunteers, in turn, provide mentoring, tutoring, role modeling, and love to children in schools and other facilities in our community. Foster Grandparents serve at-risk children.

The Knoxville - Knox County CAC Office on Aging provides a wide variety of services and information for local senior citizens and their families.


Knoxville - Knox County CAC and CAC Office on Aging have many programs available to assist local community needs; and many of these programs utilize volunteers to assist with making a positive impact in the lives of Knox County community members.

  • Orientation or Training
  • 20 Hours per week + one, 4 hour monthly inservice
  • Volunteers receive a stipend of $2.65 an hour for volunteering. Volunteer stipend is income based.
