ORGANIZATION: Break the Silence against Domestic Violence

Donor Services Coordinator


Locations : San Diego, CA, Colorado Springs, CO

Hours : 5-10 hours per week

This position will assist team in developing fundraising initiatives to enhance donor relationships and improve the quality of communication all donors receive when supporting BTS. The scope of this role includes recognition and acknowledgements, fund and impact reporting, and related communications primarily for major and principle gift donors. The Donor Services Coordinator will work closely with the senior leadership group within the organization as the donor relations partner on a variety of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive Donor Relationships
  • Serve as additional contact for donors
  • Create, institutionalize, and enroll donors in Donor memberships
  • Create, implement, and coordinate a systemic gift acceptance, donor acknowledgement, and donor recognition plan to support and expand donor relationships
  • Ensure that gifts are acknowledged and that donors are thanked consistently, appropriately and in a timely fashion.
  • Work collaborative with the development team to compile appropriate invitation lists, compose letters or invites, engage feature program participants, provide program materials, prepare program scripts and participants remarks, and create opportunities for donor engagement and recognition
  • Manage information tracking processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, on-going communications and continued cultivation of past and current donors to enhance their relationships with BTS
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • College degree in a related area preferred or relevant years of work experience required
  • Ability to establish best practices and operational efficiency
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills
  • Familiarity with fundraising practices including IRS regulations related to gift acceptance, valuation, and 501c3 operational requirements
  • High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as unifying force and to position communication discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
  • Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
  • Ability to use discretion in working with confidential and sensitive data
