ORGANIZATION: The United Arc

The United Arc, a leading provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties and the North Quabbin region of Massachusetts is seeking a psychologist or masters level practitioner with expertise in intellectual disability and developmental disabilities, mental illness, or applied behavioral analysis to serve on our Human Rights committee and review behavior plans for the committee.

The general responsibility of the committee is to assist The United Arc to affirm, promote, and protect the human and civil rights of individuals served and to monitor and review the activities of The United Arc with regard to the human and civil rights of those individuals.

Committee members attend committee meetings 5 times a year, usually on a Tuesday evening at 5:00 pm at our administrative offices at 294 Avenue A, Turners Falls, MA. Meetings are generally about 2 hours. Committee members are also responsible for assisting in annual site visits which occur in place of the July committee meeting.

Description

The United Arc provides an array of flexible services for individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. During fiscal year 2015, The United Arc provided services to more than 500 individuals and families from 47 communities in Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties, and in surrounding communities. We celebrated our 60th year serving citizens with disabilities in 2011.
