Butterfly Dreams is non-profit that provides events and pageants for individuals who are "Differently-abled". Our participants are male and female with ages 4 and up. Our participants have intellectual disabilities ranging from Down syndrome to low functioning autism.
Production Manager is responsible for making sure the pageant production runs smoothly from beginning to end for Rehearsal and Pageant day. This position will work closely with the stage manager, hosting venue, guest emcee and state director to ensure all needs are met and the event stays on schedule. Training and guidance will be provided by Director and Board of Directors, but production/theater/event experience is necessary to understand how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together to create the magic!
We have a monthly meeting that will not run longer than 30-45 mins. We ask that you try to attend either in person or by video/phone.
You will receive an organization email address and t-shirt and be considered a member of the committee.
We ask that you have a phone with text abilities, a computer and printer, and basic knowledge of working in Google documents spreadsheets and gmail.

Mission Statement
To provide opportunities for individuals with significant intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to learn life skills and build pride in a nurturing environment.
Description
Butterfly Dreams is a nonprofit organization which will provide an opportunity for girls, women, boys and men with significant intellectual disabilities/developmental delays to participate in both an annual pageant and numerous yearly activities promoting the event. Our goal is to give every participant their moment to stand in the spotlight, showcase their abilities and not be defined by their disabilities. Every participant will receive an accolade; a medal of participation for the boys/men, and a trophy and tiara for the girls/women. In short, each participant will be provided that "Miss or Mr. America" moment.
Our vision also involves support from the community. A young man or woman, (known as Pageant Pals) will be assigned for each participant, to escort them through the event. These young ladies and gentlemen will preferably be working towards a career in Special Education, Speech Pathology or related field and come from the local colleges. This provides the students with real world experience, along with the promotion of inclusion and acceptance. Our hope is that our participants and pals will develop a friendship that extends beyond the borders of this day.
Butterfly Dreams is a journey of learning life skills and developing pride in self for all its participants and volunteers.
