Butterfly Dreams is non-profit that provides events and pageants for individuals who are differently-abled. We support men, woman, and children ages 4 and up; who have intellectual and or developmental disabilities ranging from Down syndrome to low functioning autism.
The PAL (Person Assisting with Love) Coordinator volunteer position processes all incoming PAL applications. They verify eligibility, process back ground checks for PALs over 18, and work closely with Participant Coordinator to pair participants. The PAL coordinator also attends planning meetings (either in person or by video conf) and helps with other events throughout the year as their schedule permits.
Additional responsibilities include follow-up by email and phone, and a little bit of data processing. All can be managed easily by following the steps provided by their director. They are considered part of the committee and will be given an organization email address and Google Drive access. They are expected to attend monthly meeting which last approx 30-45 min. Meetings are held either in person at a local establishment or online via video conference depending on the Director/Asst. Director.
