If you are attentive to details, are an organized person, and you like to see results, then this volunteer position is just for you! The Invoice Assistant Volunteer will help with general clerical tasks, logistics administration, and filing. The volunteer may be asked to assist with computer data entry.
Your work will help us operate more efficiently and help us attain our mission. Together we can solve create a hunger-free community!
Requirements:
- Organized, detail-oriented
- Experience with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Experience with invoice processing
- Good math skills. Ability to do detailed calculations.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to promote the mission and activities of SHFB with enthusiasm.
The ideal volunteer would be available for 2-4 hours per week. The Volunteer will need to be on-site for this work, and a computer will be provided. Our need is ongoing and flexible; the work schedule will need to be agreed in advance with the work supervisor.

Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is a private non-profit organization that collects and distributes more than 12 million pounds of food each month. We currently serve an average of over 500,000 individuals each month; 60% are low income families and 20% are seniors. By building collaborative networks, we efficiently distribute food by leveraging donations of money, food and human resources. But we cannot do it alone.
