The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is coming to Indianapolis on April 19, and we’re inviting you to bring your company or community/friends/family group to the party!

Best Buddies is a non-profit that works to confront the social isolation experienced by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Because it’s often very difficult for them to make friends and get jobs on their own, they often face a lifetime of loneliness and seclusion. We bridge that social gap through our friendship, leadership and employment programs, which foster inclusion at every level.

The Friendship Walk plays a key role in making it possible for Best Buddies to thrive in our schools and community. There is power in numbers, and when thousands come together at a local level, the impact is great! We invite you to be a part of our growing movement by creating a corporate or community walk team, and inviting your peers to join in on the fun. Registration is free, and the Best Buddies Friendship Walk experience is priceless!

So why should your group be a part of this? Last year we served over 6500 people in more than 100 Indiana school and adult chapters, and placed participants with IDD into meaningful employment in the Indianapolis area through our Jobs Program. But there are still schools all over the state that do not have a Best Buddies program, and close to 85% of people with IDD are unemployed - this needs to change. And you and your group can have a direct hand in making that happen.
