Community Based Mentoring
Presently, at Big Brothers Big Sisters Pike Peak (Colorado Springs), we are in high need of male volunteers to be mentors to young kids in the community.
In Community Based Mentoring, volunteer mentors (Big Brothers) are matched with a child or youth (Little Brothers) and choose a variety of mutually enjoyable activities of their own choosing. As a volunteer, you would be matched a child between the ages of 9 and 12 (unless that young kiddo comes from a military family - then the youth may be as old as 15).
Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with the same child two to four times a month.
Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the mentors, offering suggestions, counsel and assistance. This is our traditional program for which Big Brothers Big Sisters (of America) is best and most known for.
We currently have several Little Brothers enrolled and waiting to be matched with a Big Brothers. Please consider volunteering today!
