mentor2.0
Mentor2.0 matches high school students from Atlas Preparatory School with college-educated mentors in the Colorado Springs community, providing the students with support and guidance through their high school career to prepare them for college and the workforce.
The majority of the mentorship is done over a secure online platform (iMentor), as a "pen pal mentorship" - this allows for busy professionals to flex their time-investment around their schedules. In addition, there are monthly events for in-person mentoring facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Volunteers must be 21 years old and have the equivalent credit hours of a two-year degree.
Volunteers must also be willing to commit to the program for four years, as we try to make matches from freshman year through graduation - we want the students to have an example of consistency and commitment in their lives.
Presently, we are trying to finish matching the students of the current freshman class each with a mentor. We have around 15 students left. Please help us make our goal; these students have been waiting to be matched throughout the current school year, and are eager to have a mentor.
Soon, starting in May, we will begin campaigning to match the upcoming freshman class. If you know of others who may be interested in volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, please send them our way!
